About Prof. Ajit Singhvi

Prof. Ajit Singhvi, an Indian-born philanthropist and management expert based in London, is renowned for his contributions in academia and corporate leadership. Dr. Singhvi holds degrees from Harvard Business School, Manchester Business School, Middlesex University's School of Engineering, Japan Institute of Plant Management, Ashridge Management College, Institute of Chartered Accountants, and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He collaborated closely with the late American economist Professor David A. Garvin at Harvard Business School.

Prof. Singhvi has made substantial contributions to education and women's empowerment in India. His philanthropic efforts include endowing professorial chairs at prestigious institutions across the country. He has championed the concept of Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) as a contemporary extension of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aimed at fostering philanthropic activities within society. Prof. Singhvi has also authored a book titled ‘Alphabet of Management & Transformation’. At LIBA, Prof. Ajit Singhvi Micro Centre for Good Governance was inaugurated during BEACON – the Annual Business Ethics Conference of LIBA on 8th February 2019 by Mr. Jochen Tewes, Founder, Inter-Mission Industrial Development Association.

About the Centre

With the benevolent contribution of Prof. Ajith Singhvi and the visionary leadership of Rev. Fr. C. Joe Arun, SJ, Director, LIBA, the Centre for Management Literacy is established in the Academic Year 2024-2025. The Centre aims at being a catalyst for advancing management literacy globally by fostering research excellence, delivering high-impact educational programs, forging strategic partnerships, expanding outreach, and engaging with communities to drive positive societal impact. Through strategic planning, rigorous execution, and continuous evaluation, the Centre will achieve its vision of becoming a premier institution in the field of management literacy.

  • Conduct rigorous academic research on management literacy topics, including but not limited to leadership, strategic management, and corporate governance.
  • Publish findings in reputable academic journals and disseminate knowledge through conferences and seminars.
  • Develop and offer comprehensive educational programs that cater to different levels of management literacy needs, from foundational courses to advanced executive education.
  • Organize international conferences, workshops, and webinars to foster dialogue and share best practices in management literacy.
  • Provide quality management education to the economically weaker sections of society and develop management literacy among local communities through consulting services, workshops, and advisory support.
